With significant experience across all cycling disciplines, our team is perfectly placed to provide guidance and support for all of your cycling needs.

Ian Brown Founder & Managing Director

Ian’s passion for cycling began at 15-years-old. His local success lead him to represent Guernsey at two Commonwealth Games, and Great Britain on three occasions, including the seven-day Tour of Normandy.

Ian has reduced his shop hours in recent years, but still remains a crucial organiser of local charity successes; the Les Bourges 30/30 Cycle Challenge and Male Uprising Guernsey (MUG).

Paul Brehaut Sales Director

Paul, locally known as Dudley, won his first ever local Mountain Bike race in November 1995, and joined Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop in 1996.

James Roe Sales Director

James’ dedication and competitive nature has lead him to much success locally, nationally and internationally in Cross Country (XC) Mountain Bike racing.

James has represented Guernsey at 3 Commonwealth Games, and is a highly decorated Island Games competitor. During the previous 6 Games, James has collected over 15 medals, including 8 individual. His most recent successes include two Individual Silver medals in the Men’s XC, during Guernsey 2023.

Hannah Brehaut Sales Assistant

Hannah joined the shop at 14 years old, originally as a student. Hannah’s expertise and knowledge has lead her to become a key contact for our Business Relationships and Riese & Muller sales.

As an accomplished cyclist herself, Hannah has competed in 2 Natwest International Island Games. In Guernsey 2023, Hannah earnt herself an Individual Gold Medal in the Women’s Time Trial, and Individual Silver in the Women’s Road Race. She remains highly competitive within local events, and is the Women’s record holder for the 5 mile and 10 mile Time Trial.

Jade Packham Sales Assistant

Jade joined the team in March 2022 with a passion for all things MTB and racing in general. Since then, Jade has completed a Retul Fit Level 1 qualification, and is our handy shop Bike Fitter. Alongside working in the shop, she regularly competes off Island, in various women’s Cross County Mountain Bike races.

In 2023, Jade competed in her first Natwest International Island Games. Jade was part of the Women’s Mountain Bike Team, whom earned themselves Guernsey’s first ever Gold, and Silver, Women’s Team medal.

George Remfrey Sales Assistant

George joined the team in March 2023 and brings with him a fresh enthusiasm for everything bike related. With excellent knowledge on all things electric and experience with various E-Bikes of his own, George is your go-to for advice on all our E-Bike products. George also owns a BMC Roadmachine which he enjoys riding in his free time.

Steve Brucher Workshop Manager

Joining the team as a works experience student in 1998, Steve has been working as a mechanic for Ian Brown’s Cycle Shop for over 25 years. Steve learnt his trade at Moullins Cycle Shop, and was deservingly promoted Workshop Manager in 2003. His time at the shop has equipped him with every trick in the book – so far, there has been no problem he can’t solve!

Steve also competed very successfully at downhill events locally in past years and is also a very accomplished BMX rider.

Phil Nicolle Workshop Administrator & Warehouse Manager

Phil joined the Workshop team in June 2021 and is our friendly front-of-house. Phil is a road bike enthusiast and style icon when it comes to eye-wear. As a highly valued member of the team, Phil plays an essential role in administration of the Workshop and managing our Warehouse. From service enquiries to warranty support, Phil is our workshop problem-solver.

Steve Horne Workshop Technician

Steve Horne has been riding bikes for as long as he can remember and is also a local BMX legend. Joining the team in June 2021, Steve has a special “finesse” for his work and is often found going above and beyond for customers. For advice on how to improve your style on a BMX or Mountain Bike, speak to Steve.

Neil Ridley Technical Assistant

Mr Tech, if there is a technical problem Neil will find a solution as long as you bring your bike in clean!

Payment Options
To make sure all our customers are offered the right bike for the right purpose we are always happy to discuss payment options for all or part of the cost using our local finance options agency Cherry Godfrey.
Fitting
For each customer who chooses a bicycle from us we ensure that it is appropriate for their stated needs and that it is adjusted to fit them correctly for comfort, safety and for efficiency.
Servicing
Each and every new bicycle will go through a settling in phase. This is normally within the first three months. During this period we advise all new bicycle owners to keep assessing the bike during and after each ride. If any adjustments are required during this settling in phase then these are performed free of charge by our technical staff.
