Kids just want to have fun

Some of us at Ian Brown's Cycle Shop have had children ourselves and buying bikes for them as they have grown has enabled us to form the age old opinion of "You get what you pay for".

We also know that between three years and fourteen years it will mean several changes of shoe size as well as bicycle size. However a good bike, that is fitted well, will give hours and hours of pleasure and as important as a good pair of well fitting shoes. Too many children's' bikes are poorly made and poorly fitted making the cycling experience poor and not enjoyable to ride. We buy all our children's bikes from quality manufacturers Raleigh, Dawes, Giant, Cube, Frog and Specialized.

Popular Childrens Bikes

These bikes are either in stock / can be ordered for prompt delivery. They represent a very small selection of the bikes we sell so why not pop in to the shop to see the full range?

Specialized Hotrock 24" Boys

Little legs love to climb as big ones, which is why we made the Boy's 21-Speed Hotrock 24. It has wide gear range that puts any hill within reach, which means that they'll spend more time smiling and less time sulking on the side of the trail. Of course, it also features a lightweight, yet durable, A1 Premium aluminium frame that's designed to take a hit while they find their legs on the pump track, while chatter and bumps are handled by the coil-sprung SR Suntour fork's 50mm of travel. Then there are a whole host of other components that are plenty tough enough to stand up to your little guy, so you can rest assured that you'll be spending more time riding with your kid and less time waiting in line at the repair counter.

  • Tough, light, and durable, the A1 Premium aluminium frame is built to stand up to years of tough riding.
  • SR Suntour suspension fork offers 50mm of coil-sprung travel that smooths out bumpy, rough terrain
