Specialized

Turbo e-bikes are built around the concept of "It's you, only faster." So, no matter if you're a seasoned rider or just starting out, we customise our bikes and E-Bike Technology to the ride experience. This way, you get a seamless, authentic experience, just with a little extra oomph. And while there are a host of things that set the technology of our Turbos apart from the crowd, if you want to get up-close and personal with some of its truly differentiating hallmarks, it's time you met our motors.

They're the quietest, smoothest, and most powerful bottom bracket motors in the world. To achieve this, they utilise integrated belt drives that take the edge off the planetary gear, while built-in freewheels ensure an elimination of resistance when you're riding above the legal speed limit. But their compact, lightweight designs also benefit from a healthy dose of intelligence. We like to think of them as one part analog, two parts digital. True, there are a bevy of silent moving parts doing the heavy lifting (amplifying your input by up to 320%), but there's also complicated, custom software that senses the torque you're applying in each pedal stroke. This specially developed algorithm amplifies the power that you're putting in, or more simply: The more power that you apply, the more power our motors put out. It's not a one-trick-pony, though, as the algorithm also senses speed and cadence. And ultimately, this plays a huge part of the greater picture: Customisation over the motor characteristics.

Specialized Turbo Como 4.0

Whether you're heading out with the family for a weekend cruise, grabbing a baguette at the local bakery, or simply going off to work, the Turbo Como 4.0 Low-Entry will get where you're going in stylish comfort.

Beginning with a completely redesigned and integrated Turbo 1.2E motor, the Como proves itself as the fastest, most comfortable urban bike you've ever perched yourself upon. First off, our proprietary Rx Street Tune takes the power of a belt-driven motor that's smooth, silent, and free of annoying vibrations, and makes it optimized for riding in an urban environment by reacting to the amount of force you apply to the pedals. Think of it this way: The more power you put out, the more power the motor puts out, and this makes accelerations from a standstill both quick and efficient. Perfect.

For the Como, we developed a custom battery, we call the Specialized U1-460, that seamlessly integrates into the frame, plus it's lockable and easily removable for simplified charging. With this battery, the Turbo Como delivers some extra "oomph," with plenty of juice to accompany you on your cruise down the bike path, a trip to the grocery store, or even to that new café on the other side of the city.

We also developed a custom 2.2-inch computer with the German powerhouse, BLOKS. It offers you a wide range of features, like navigation, tracking, diagnostics, and ride history. You can also peruse these screens via the custom handlebar remote without ever removing your hands from the bars.

This Como also features our Ground Control Geometry that makes it easy to put a foot down at a stop sign, while eliminating the struggle of getting on and off the bike. And to top off all of these innovative features, we chose a worry-free spec. Along these lines, you'll Shimano 9-speed components, powerful hydraulic disc brakes, racks, and fenders.

  • The custom E5 Low-Entry aluminum frame on the Como, cleanly houses the battery and motor, while still keeping the lightweight properties that E5 is known for. Pair this with our Ground Control Geometry, and you have a durable and lightweight bike that'll keep you rolling in style.
  • The Como's motor is fully integrated with the frame and features a smooth, silent, vibration-free output. It's also been custom-tuned for city riding, and it intuitively reacts to the force of your pedaling-so the harder you pedal, the more power it delivers. And with an internal belt drive design, it does this without added vibration for the smoothest and most silent ride possible.
  • We made the custom 460 Wh battery to be fully integrated with the frame, removable for easy charging, and lockable for added security. It communicates with the display and has multiple modes to maximize the overall efficiency and range.

Specialized Turbo Levo HT 29

If speed is at the top of your wish list, there's no better tool than the Turbo Levo Hardtail 29. It takes the fun, efficiency, and speedy characteristics of our 29er hardtails and adds our Turbo technology to crank-up the speed along every part of the trail.

First and foremost, it has all of the speed and nimble handling that our hardtail trail bikes are known for-an easy fit, ultra-short chainstays for nimble handling, and a low bottom bracket that makes the bike feel glued to the trail. In other words, it rides like an awesome mountain bike first and foremost-what would be the point, otherwise? Then comes our efficient and powerful Specialized e- Bike technology, along with an integrated battery and motor. This year, however, you'll also see some updated software that increases the motor's efficiency, plus an M5 Premium aluminium frame.

The exclusive, Rx trail-tuned motor smoothly and quietly brings added power to the pedals to make climbing the steepest of trails nearly effortless. The output, meanwhile, is fully adjustable in order to conserve energy. Lastly, our new, custom Specialized 1.2E motor features instant pedal engagement, so you get immediate power the moment you need it and consistent torque throughout the entyre cadence range This makes for the most efficient use of power on the trail, and more importantly, it creates the feel of a capable trail bike.

At the battery, you'll find that it's fully integrated with the down tube and easily removable for quick charging or swaps. It has a lengthy lifespan for hitting long, out of the way trails and, along with the motor, is strategically placed for optimal weight distribution. The Mission Control app, meanwhile, gives you full control of the bike's tech.

This version also has a build kit focused on the intersection of durability and performance, with an SR Suntour XCM32 fork with size- specific travel up front, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, and a one-by Shimano groupset that controls shift and drivetrain duties.

  • M5 Premium aluminium construction is paired with our Trail 6Fattie Geometry and a hardtail design to support a ride that provides slack, confident handling, maximum efficiency, and tons of speed. The frame also features an integrated battery mount at the down tube for fast and easy battery removal, plus a forged and braced motor mount at bottom bracket. This keeps the aesthetic streamlined and the weight distribution perfectly balanced. Lastly, you'll find fully enclosed internal cable routing for a clean look and even cleaner cables, and internal routing for an alloy dropper post.
  • The Levo's Specialized 1.2E motor is fully integrated with the frame, and it's also been custom-tuned for trail riding. It intuitively reacts to the force of your pedaling, so the harder you pedal, the more power it delivers. And with an internal belt drive design, it does this without added vibration for the smoothest and most silent ride possible.
  • The Specialized M1-400 battery features an integrated Trail Display and ANT+/Bluetooth® module with Mission Control App connectivity. It houses 400Wh of trail-taming juice, and is neatly integrated into the down tube.

These estimates, of course, have some assumptions-the total rider and bike weight is 220 pounds, the terrain is flat with some inclines, and there is either no wind or a light breeze. In other words, with a top speed of 20mph, there's plenty of juice to take you to and from work, a trip to the grocery store, or even to that new café on the other side of the city.

We also developed a custom 2.2-inch smart computer that lets you view your battery level and toggle various ride metrics such as speed, distance, and time. You can also peruse these screens via the custom handlebar remote without ever removing your hands from the bars.

To top off all of these innovative features, we chose a wallet-friendly build for the Turbo Vado 2.0. It features a range of Shimano 9-speed components and powerful hydraulic disc brakes that stop on a dime, so the Vado 2.0 is the perfect tool for your busy lifestyle.
